BIOLOGY (UC Approved) One Year
Biology is the study of all living things. During the course of study students will learn of the basic unity of life that exists among the diverse life forms on the planet. Emphasis will be placed on the primary life functions, scientific methods, taxonomic groupings and relationships. Students will study the primary life needs and functions of reproduction, homeostasis, taxonomic and evolutionary relationships, as well as ecological concepts.

BIOLOGY HONORS (UC Approved) One Year
This one-year course is designed for advanced students. The course deals in detail with all major aspects of biology including biological chemistry, DNA coding and transfer, evolution, genetic diversity, animal and plant biology, and ecology.

CHEMISTRY (UC Approved) One Year
This laboratory course provides an understanding of the basic principles of chemistry and emphasizes the use of mathematics to express ideas in chemistry. Subject matter includes Atomic structure and the Periodic Table, Nature of Solutions, Chemical Calculations, Acid-base Theories, Principles of Reactions, Rate of Reactions, and Nuclear Chemistry.

CO-REQUISITE Algebra II or higher

AP CHEMISTRY (UC Approved) One Year
This laboratory course is an in-depth study of chemistry. It is designed to provide students with the analytical skills and scientific knowledge to succeed on the Advanced Placement Test and acquire college credit.

CO-REQUISITE Algebra II/Trig Honors or higher

PHYSICS HONORS (UC Approved) One Year
This course is for the college bound student. It provides an introduction to the main principles of physics and emphasizes the development of mathematical problem solving ability. Course includes mechanics, electricity and magnetism, kinetic theory and heat, waves and optics and modern physics.

PHYSIOLOGY (UC Approved) One Year
Physiology is the biological science of the functions, activities and processes of living organisms. Students will learn about the major body and organ systems and how they function. Students will learn about the major organ and body systems and how they function pertaining to movement including sports, and the effects of alcohol and drugs.
